The Evil That Men Do…

Every human is born on nature. Every human wants to be happy. Pursuit of happiness is the only common ground among people of this world. Unfortunately, people don’t always know what makes them truly happy. When people can’t find answers easily, they tend to buy ideas from others. Therefore, when humans don’t know what happiness is, they become highly manipulatable.

Evil will never present itself as your enemy. It will try to become your best friend. It will provide you with a definition of happiness best suited for its sinister purposes. Since happiness is the most important thing for everyone, you will direct all your efforts towards achieving the happiness as defined by the evil. You will of course never feel completely happy, because the definition of happiness was never correct.

You have to define happiness by yourself. I cannot define it for you, but I can tell you how you need to think to be able to define happiness: Is there a voice inside you which isn’t satisfied with a certain thing in your life? Listen to that voice. It will lead you to happiness.

Note: Its a shame that I have to start from the nut and acorn of the human being. Humans have been programmed to such a degree that no word of advice from generations of wise men seem relevant to the modern world anymore.

What Orwell feared were those who would ban books. What Huxley feared was that there would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one. Orwell feared those who would deprive us of information. Huxley feared those who would give us so much that we would be reduced to passivity and egoism. Orwell feared that the truth would be concealed from us. Huxley feared the truth would be drowned in a sea of irrelevance. Orwell feared we would become a captive culture. Huxley feared we would become a trivial culture . . . In short, Orwell feared that what we hate will ruin us. Huxley feared that what we love will ruin us.

—Neil Postman

The quote is wonderful. But I disclaim complete adherence to Aldous Huxley’s philosophy, since he was associated with the Darwin’s school of thought. The quote should be read in its current context, and not expanded to cover all of Huxley’s ideas.

Why Don’t You Comprehend?

The phone rings. An unfamiliar number shows up on the screen.

“Hi, this is XYZ from XYZ bank, how are you doing Sir?” the phone barked.

“Fine” I said coldly.

“Sir, we have noticed that while you are paying your monthly minimum amount, you are not using your card for new transactions” the corporate brightness shrieked through the phone.

“Well I had a pay raise so now I use more cash” I interrupted him with my cold tone.

“Oh, well if you have more salary now, we can give you a limit increase” oh so benevolent chirping sound…

“Nope, its just that I don’t plan using your card much” I said mockingly.

“Why is that Sir?” confused he was, “Are you not satisfied with our service?”

“Well if you want to know, I am not” I sure was rude, “Every month, I end up paying almost 50% markup, when your marketing campaigns give a different impression. I have realized that credit cards are of no help.”

“Sir, I am sorry that you are disturbed, but we charge according to the terms and conditions which you agreed while signing up” he said politely.

“I am not blaming you dear” I said firmly.

“Alright sir, whenever you want any help, we are here for you” he knew he had to give up, “Allah Hafiz”.

“Bye” I hung up.

A few months back, when I had almost replenished the limit of my credit card, the same bank was keeping me on my toes. Every month, almost all of my salary was paid back to the banking system. Almost 50% of my bill amount contributed towards the markup. Since I didn’t have any cash, I ended up buying more on the credit card. And not to mention lack of consideration in budgeting and spending, because well, I had a credit card…

Then I knew that things had to change. And they did! If things go well, I plan to cancel all my credit cards in 3 months time. And things will go well. The nature is prevalent.

The banking systems employ a lots of mathematics and prediction models to calculate different markup percentages of different products for different income groups. These banks prototype you, and other corporates manufacturing consumer goods come to their aid. The whole central banking system is there to ultimately protect the commercial and investment banks on cost of unemployment and rise in food prices.

Why can’t people see? Why can’t people hear? And why can’t people speak out?

Memoirs of Failings

My primary school teachers used innovative ways of punishing students. When we were in grade 4 or 5, if a student would perform badly in a quiz, the teacher would send him off to sit in a grade 1 classroom for a while. The shame of a big boy sitting with first graders was worse than any other punishment.

I never got that punishment since I was a stellar student in my school days.

Many years laters in college, I had different interests and pre-occupations. I got an ‘F’ in Solid State Electronics in sixth semester. I was at home when I got the result. It was the first – and the last – ‘F’ of my academic carrer. I was disturbed. That night, I saw in a dream that I was sitting in a grade one classroom…

That semester, Dr. Khasan Karimov (a Russian scholar) taught Solid State Electronics, and was the only teacher in my academic career to fail me.

“Someone has finally evaluated me correctly” I thought, “He is the one worthy to be my final year project advisor”.

So in our seventh semester, I chose Dr. Khasan Karimov – the only teacher to ever fail me – as my project advisor.

USA has 5% population in the wold and it consumes 30% of the world’s resources.

The whole world is suffering because Americans cannot resist to buy stuff.

USA doesn’t have any real wealth anymore. All the wealth is in Arab and Asia.

Americans are not a proud nation anymore. The spirit of founding fathers is dead. Unless they are high on alchohol, drugs and women; they feel ashamed.

USA is killing innocent people all around the world.

The American people work, work and work. And then they spend. And then they go and drink. But they are not happy. Americans are the most unhappy people in the world.

————————————————————————–

A common citizen of USA must :

1. realize that government of USA and the corporate world is doing to him what they are doing to the rest of the world. While this corporatocracy spill the blood of other nations, they suck the blood out of their own citizens.

2. bring the change. He must realize what his lifestyle is doing to African children.

3. realize that his personal ambitions play an important role in success of the sinister corporate world.

4. realize that this life is not a game show. He must find happiness. And happiness isn’t coming with his current lifestyle.

5. realize that he is consuming a lot more resources than people elsewhere. Any change he brings in his lifestyle will help a lot of people around the world.

6. restore the American pride.

7. realize that Americans can do more than anyone else in the world. Since they have the power to bring change, they are responsible for it as well.

————————————————————————–

We must bring truth out in the light. While everyone else is being a pessimist about the current situation, I believe that the current mortgage crises is the best wake up call to the world cursed by the corporate world.

Many of us wait for ‘the signs from God’. Well, here they are.

Feminism, Respect & Modern Women

All this shit about women going crazy and demanding dual attitude was going on in my mind. I mean, at one point they demand equal opportunities in the world and professional life. But they refuse to accept the package deal which come with it: more competition, no separate queues for women. They want special treatment and equality at the same time… how is that ever possible?

Another random idea came to my head, and it was about men looking at women as material objects. I won’t contend the fact that men today do infact look at women as items to be possessed and flaunted. Every man today needs a trophy, an award winning woman. But then, women today too don’t have any self respect. They consent to be treated as material objects. If women want respect, they should stop agreeing to become material objects.

Another fact I won’t contend is that men today ogle women at every possible opportunity. But then, women today don’t make any effort to save themselves from those piercing eyes either.

Women today want perfects hubbys. He should earn a million. Most men cannot earn a lot if they don’t resort to some kind of methods where high morals are challenged. With such ways of income come a life style which leads to a shallow character. (I can elaborate on this point if somebody wants)

Feminism appears a strange concept to me. The way I see it, they say: We want equal professional opportunities and social freedom, but we don’t want to face atrocities that men face. We want to dress up and feel good, but we don’t want every guy to look at us. We want a man who ‘can do’, and fulfill our every desire. But we also want him to be a guy who is totally faithful to us. Since all this isn’t possible, then least we deserve is to live life like we want it. We want to enjoy like guys do. We want a handsome man, a stud, cute like a button. We want the fastest car, the biggest house, a designer wardrobe… We want the whole world to appreciate us. We will go out and do social work and join NGOs. We will dine with influencial people, prove ourself to be intelligent.

?

I took it to the extreme, but I needed to do that. I know most women who will read these lines would be of Pakistani/Muslim origin, and they won’t be able to relate to everything that I wrote. But read the initial few lines. If you can relate to even the initial few lines, you need to be cautious now. A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. Why take that first step?

Feminism is nothing but another concept created by the corporate world to drown the truth in a sea of irrelevance. What lays at the bottom is misery and disrespect. Don’t go down that road.

A World Apart

I feel the need to write something to tell everyone whats going on, but I don’t know how to start. In the previous few attempts, I started with different points in time. First I started off with telling how I didn’t have internet at home for past two months. I erased and then tried to write something regarding the groundbreaking visit to a phenomenal person in June. That didn’t feel right either. Although both those points were completely relevent, but didn’t tell all. I then realized that what I wanted to say was exactly what the topic says: “A World Apart”. Since I couldn’t start with this phrase because I would be stuck in the dilemma at the second sentence again, I had to use Saadat Hasan Mantu’s favorite trick to kick off writing something, i.e. writing what just happened in past few moments.

Blank… I thought I had taken a start and words would flow, but as I pressed the ‘enter’ key to start the new paragragh, I realized that I was yet again at a new start. What I want to say cannot be contained under the heading of any subject, topic in the world, other than the words “A World Apart”. And explanation of  that phrase is exactly what I should do in the next paragraph.

A World Apart means two things. First, I am a very different guy than what I used to be. Different than what I used to be one month ago, two months ago, six months ago, nine months ago and five years ago. Second, I live in a world very different than the world most people live in. The loss of a common point of reference is exactly the reason why I am not able to say what I want to say.

There I did it again. Instead of keep on writing, I leaned back and started thinking what would people think when they would read this. How would they precieve me? What would be different stereotypes in their head which would shape what they make out of these words? Right now I am dealing with the impossible task of writing in a way which would make people set aside their concepts created by the corporate virus in their bloods, and read my words with a free mind. But freedom is exactly what people don’t have.

Hey, I am taken back once again. I used the word ‘freedom’. Did I convey what I mean by ‘freedom’? No, people read the word and they thought about whatever they think of what ‘freedom’ is. They didn’t know what I meant by ‘freedom’. What I mean by ‘freedom’ is that people would read this word (and any other word) without being influenced by deceptive definitions and perceptions created by the corporate world. Here is a hint: Have you ever actually felt free? If no, then your definition of freedom is not your own. I thank to God for creating some words which cannot be manipulated, e.g. feel.

Loss of a common point of reference… what a shame.

Orwell feared that the truth would be concealed from us. Huxley feared the truth would be drowned in a sea of irrelevance.

And that is exactly what has happened. The truth is right there, written in the book of God. But the book of God has been made irrelevent. If you read Quran, you will come across so many verses where He warns against making His words irrelevent. The word Quran uses for such a person is “Kazib“. Kazib is a person who listens to the truth, chooses to ignore it, and convinces himself that he is on the right path. He therefore makes the truth irrelevent.

You want to know the truth? All of you are kazibs.

As I wrote the last three sentences, I was faced with another dilemma. In our good world, we are not supposed to be bitter. Sophisticated and mannered people don’t go about telling people that they are evil. That would make me a mullah, yet another perception corporate world has created to drown the truth in a sea of irrelevence. And mullahs themselves, preaching the word of God, they think they have got Heaven in their pocket. They denounce the infidels, they pray five times a day. Then there are moderate, bright mullahs with a sense of humor. They hold formal educational degrees along with their madrassa degrees. They walk with politicians, come on TV, sound global and peaceful. They denounce talibans and any acts of voilance. And talibans… they would enforce parda, kill the non-believers and protect Islam. Really? Or are they too – like all others – just another perception created by the corporate world to drown the truth in a sea of irrelevence?

When I tell you that all of you are kazibs, you are likely to place me in any one of the pre-created sections of your mind. Are you telling yourself right now that this guy is another of those XYZ? And that you know these XYZs very well.  The XYZ is the stereotype, and this process of discarding my words makes you a ‘kazib’.

So I cannot really explain to you what happened in the past two to three months. All the words are owned by the corporate world. If I say I have tuned religious, you guys will precieve me in a way that doesn’t reflect the truth. If I emphasize too much on what corporate world is doing to this world and to the people, you guys will call me a conspiracy theorist, yet another word to drown the truth in a sea of irrelevence.

You see, I can no longer use words.

May be that is exactly why I didn’t write anything for so long. Its not the internet. I have internet at office where I can blog as freely as home. Its just that whenever I want to say something, I don’t know what words to choose. Because even the words are not free anymore. Even the words are slave to the corporate world, for what they mean is governed by perceptions created by them.

This reminds me of a character from Intizar Hussain’s “Zard Kutta” where the character is a great poet. He leaves the city and goes into the jungle. He stops talking to other humans, and start talking to lifeless objects.

Dear readers, I am irrelevent. My story is a world apart. My life hooks out to a dimension and freedom unknown to you, for all of you have been enslaved.

But there is hope. Truth is a weapon which gives you power against an enemy which is not known to you, which cannot be seen, which creeps inside your heart and uses deception to enslave you. And most importantly, there is no definition of truth. This weapon cannot be taken away from you.

Start here: Search for happiness. Think what would really make you happy, with complete truth and honesty.
